In my opinion, yes, you should take her out. While I understand why some guys have disdain for Valetine’s Day – and especially, in the context of a relationship, it has little role other to financially exploit the guy. However, for a guy just starting to see a girl, it is an opportunity. Women make themselves more available to guys in the runup to Valentine’s Day more than any other time of year. In fact, it may be the case – and of course I am only speculating – that the main reason this girl is dating you in the first place is because she doesn’t want to be dateless on Valentine’s Day, and if you don’t ask her out, she may not want to see you again.

Two other considerations:

1. you may end up losing her to a competitor using Valentine’s Day to his advantage by asking her out.

2. old “boyfriends” come out of the woodwork within a few days after Valentine’s Day. With the holidays out of the way and all the attendant hassle and expense, the guys who have hung around her just looking for sex and who have been trying to upgrade their de facto harems during the stretch from Thanksgiving to V-Day will likely be reappearing, thirsty for some familiar booty.

Seize the opportunity and ask her out; just be careful not to lay the romance on too thick. The fact that you are even taking her out on Valentine’s Day is gooey enough; in fact, if do decide to ask her out, just casually ask her out for “Monday night.” Of course, if she says something like, “you mean Valentine’s Day?,” respond with something like, “yes, silly, I know its Valentine’s Day.”

I don’t get why she’s trying with baseball players. She’s clearly not their style.

With her weirdness level she should probably aim for film producers or strange rockstars, though even those guys go for normal girls.
