DirkJohanson’s Official Statement on Tiger Woods’ Apology
Below the video excerpt is my official statement on Tiger Woods’ apology (click here for full version), first given – in slightly less beefy form – to the New York Post.
“Four centuries after the setting in which Hawthorne’s Hester Prynne was forced to wear a scarlett letter, we have come full circle – now guys are the ones paraded in front of the world for cheating, while women such as Sandra Loh not only cheat, but go around telling the whole world about it.”
“I only hope that Tiger Woods’ pathetic groveling yesterday sets a precedent equally applied to both sexes, so that from now on, when a woman is a victim of domestic intimate partner violence – like Tiger Woods was – she must publicly apologize for her conduct which caused the guy – or, statistically more likely, fellow woman - to assault her. Of course, even such apologies by women would not constitute de facto equal treatment, since women are proportionately far less likely than guys to be forced to have to take embarrassing measures to stave off divorce theft – but it would be an equitable start.
“In the meantime, Tiger, while you claim not to respect the fact that you did porn stars, I – and I believe I am speaking on behalf of nearly all guyinists – sure as hell do. I will try to remember you as the guy you once were, not the guy I saw yesterday. In any event, us guys are in this together, and Guyinism is here to support you.”
